What is an ON/OFF Rocker Switch?

An ON/OFF rocker switch is a simple 2-pin switch that turns a circuit on and off with one press. Push one side to switch the circuit on and push the other side to switch it off — just like the power switch on a UPS, a power strip or a small home appliance. How Does It Work?

How to Wire It

Wiring this switch is very simple:

3. That is all. When the switch is ON, power flows to your load. When it is OFF, the power is cut.

Tip: Always place the switch on the positive wire, between the power source and the load. If you are switching a pump through a relay, you can also use the switch to cut the power going into the whole circuit.
