About this item

DFPlayer Mini MP3 player module for Arduino — play MP3/WAV audio from a micro SD card (up to 32GB) with simple UART serial control. 3.2V–5V, 3W+3W stereo speaker output, 16-pin interface. Perfect for talking robots, DIY voice modules and Arduino audio projects.

Give your Arduino a voice! The DFPlayer Mini is a tiny but powerful MP3 player module that plays MP3 and WAV audio files straight from a micro SD card (up to 32GB). Control it from any Arduino board over simple UART serial commands — play, pause, next track, volume — or run it standalone. With 3W+3W stereo output it drives small speakers directly, no amplifier needed.

Key Features

  • Plays MP3 and WAV audio files from micro SD card (up to 32GB, FAT16/FAT32)
  • UART serial control — easy play / pause / next / previous / volume commands
  • 3W + 3W stereo speaker output — drives speakers directly (SPK1, SPK2)
  • Wide operating voltage: 3.2V – 5V
  • 16-pin interface (VCC, RX, TX, SPK1, SPK2 and more)
  • Compact module, breadboard friendly
  • Works standalone or with Arduino / ESP32

How to Connect (Usage)

Wire the module to your Arduino as follows:

Pin on module Connect to
VCC 5V
GND GND
RX Arduino pin D11 (via SoftwareSerial)
TX Arduino pin D10 (via SoftwareSerial)
SPK1 / SPK2 Speaker wires

Put your MP3 files on the micro SD card named 0001.mp3, 0002.mp3 and so on, then insert the card.

Arduino Example Code

Needs the DFRobotDFPlayerMini library — install it from Arduino IDE Library Manager:

#include "SoftwareSerial.h"
#include "DFRobotDFPlayerMini.h"

SoftwareSerial mySerial(10, 11); // RX, TX
DFRobotDFPlayerMini player;

void setup() {
  mySerial.begin(9600);
  if (player.begin(mySerial)) {
    player.volume(20);  // volume 0-30
    player.play(1);     // plays 0001.mp3
  }
}

void loop() {
}

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I play an MP3 with Arduino?

A: Copy your MP3 files onto a micro SD card (named 0001.mp3, 0002.mp3…), insert it, and send simple serial commands from the Arduino — the example code above plays the first track in minutes. The free DFRobotDFPlayerMini library makes it even easier.

Q: What size SD card does it support?

A: Up to 32GB, formatted FAT16 or FAT32.

Q: Can it drive a speaker directly?

A: Yes — the 3W+3W stereo output (SPK1/SPK2 pins) drives small speakers directly with no external amplifier.

Q: What voltage does it need?

A: 3.2V to 5V, so it runs happily on Arduino’s 5V supply.

Q: Does it work without an Arduino?

A: Yes — the module has onboard control pins, so it can play audio standalone (play/pause/next) without any microcontroller.

Q: Where can I buy the DFPlayer Mini in Pakistan?

A: Right here — QKZee Technologies stocks it at our Hall Road, Lahore shop with Cash on Delivery across Pakistan.
